At the age of sixteen Ahsen Gulkaya moved to Canada to discover new cultures, develop her command of the English language and at the same time complete her high school education. Upon completing high school in Vancouver, Canada she fulfilled her passion and studied Professional Makeup Artistry at the Blanche Macdonald Applied Design Center . She also pursued to have a diversified education and she also studied International Business Management and received her honours diploma at ILSC Career College.
She stayed in Canada until 2004 working for TV & film as a beauty and special effects makeup artist. She was grateful to work with some of the most celebrated people in the entertainment industry in North America, She now continues the same line of work in Turkey as well as the USA.
In 2006 Ahsen received executive dealership for the Professional US makeup brand ‘Ben Nye’ and opened her store in Istanbul. She also started to represent and distribute Cinema Secrets, Graftobian and Mehron in Turkey.
In addition to being a skilled and experienced makeup artist, she is also training other fellow makeup artists on the latest techniques and methods that she is constantly keeping up with. Her education program that she provides to her students include beauty, fashion and special effects makeup courses. Ahsen is dedicated to follow all the new trends and industry improvements and share them simultaneously with makeup artists in Turkey.
